Thank You for creating a wonderful memorial! We had about 150 people attend. -Soren and Leif
In Memory of Jorgen Hansen, by Gerald Comati (a student)
He always wore a colorful waste coat and pants of black or grey
And a few white hairs adorned his head and his step moved in a shuffling way.
He Studied the pictures on the wall and sought their reason to be,
And the reasons he found were often profound and allowed the artist to see.
His smile was broad and quick and genuine and generously fed to all,
And his laughter boomed like an orchestra drum pounding from a great hall.
His greatest pleasure was to talk of art and explain its inner drive,
And he served these delicious dishes with a voice passionate and alive.
Of younger days spent in Paris he would tell tales with joy and ease,
And I knew that City always danced in his heart to the sound of Piaf's falling leaves
His life was long and his embrace was strong and he loved his students with open heart,
And I was honored to have spent time on his stage before he had to part.
And although I did not know this teacher until the sunset of his years,
His most recent journey has left a void that I can only fill with tears.
